I'm having trouble uploading my pdf

For some reason, even though the maximum it can upload is up to 500 mb, a file that’s much smaller in the form of a pdf can’t be uploaded for some reason which I need to study for. I tried switching to PowerPoint, which required less mb, and still I couldn’t upload anything. Can this please be fixed?
